1st Birthday Party
Is there anything in the world cuter than a baby eating his birthday cake? I don't think so. I made a cake and cookies for the cutest one year olds birthday party this weekend.

Happy Easter!
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26
He told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Luke 24:46-47
And if the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11
And this is what He promised us-eternal life. 1 John 2:25
But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. Acts 2:24
For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
He is risen; He is not here. Mark 16:6

A Night in Wonderland
This year I was on the prom committee and our theme was based on Alice in Wonderland! We wanted to make it the best prom ever and we wanted the decorations to be amazing! We all had such a great time decorating for it and it turned out great!
I made heart-shaped cookies for the party favors!

Double Chocolate Cookies
Double Chocolate Cookies
2 sticks cold butter (cubed)
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. kosher salt
2 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or more if you like)
Beat cold butter and sugar for 2-3 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl as needed. Add cocoa powder and beat until incorporated. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture, adding a little at a time. Fold in chocolate chips.
Place the dough on a floured surface and knead by hand for about 30 seconds, or just until you know all the ingredients are well incorporated. Using a large ice cream scoop, make about 12 balls and place a few inches apart on a baking sheet. Flatten the cookies slightly with your hand. Bake for 12-16 minutes (I took mine out a little early and that turned out really well).
Let cool for 5 minutes and then transfer to a cooling rack.

Cake Pops
I'm pretty sure the next big thing is cake pops. I've seen them on Bakerella and thought they were adorable but I never made them. Now starbucks is making them and it seems like everyone is obsessed so I decided to try them out. They were so easy to make but mine didn't turn out as cute as I hoped..
So, without further adieu, my not-so-pretty cake pops.

I think i'll just stick to cookies. At least they taste good!

Wedding Shower
I was asked to bake cookies for a wedding shower recently and found out I had to make 16 dozen.. I spent my entire weekend baking and decorating them but it was so worth it in the end. The shower was absolutely beautiful and I was so happy to be apart of it.
